Again with smart play, here is a golf hole that we should all play well.
First of all, most of us get on the tee and look straight at the pin and
shoot for it. This hole will really penalize you for taking that
approach. If you are left at all, your second shot is going to be
extremely difficult. At this point most of you are saying, "well
at least it is better than being in the creek on the right." I agree
with you if you are hitting your driver off the tee; however, if you take
a club that will just get you to the 150 marker, there is A LOT of room
to the right before you get to the creek. In summary, hit a three
wood or long iron off the tee to the right center of the fairway, and you
will have a nice 150 yard shot left with no trouble. The rest of
the hole is simple from here unless the pin is back. Aim your second
shot to the left side of the green, because if you pull or hook your ball
it will bounce right off the mounds back on to the green. The only
place you need to avoid is going long; it is a tough up and down from behind
the green. Again, wherever the pin is located, a good shot is to
the left center of the green. Great shot! As usual, pick your
target and think about how far you are going to roll that putt. Another
solid par, still 2 over par and going to that intimidating par 3 eighth.
