The second shot on number five is very demanding since we have moguls
on the left and a creek on the right. Most of us see that we are
270 yards away and pull out our 3-wood and hit it as far as we can.
Put that three wood away. Choose a club that you have confidence
in and just try and keep in it the short stuff on the left side of the
fairway. I would pick a club that you hit between 130 and 170 yards,
remember all we are trying to do is hit this critical shot to a point where
we can score from. Great shot, not very exciting but at least you
are not looking for your ball. Now you have anywhere from 100-150
yards into the green. This is a very tricky green with quite a bit
of undulation and trouble around the green. You do not want to miss
this green, because wherever you miss it is a tough up and down.
Keeping that in mind, pick the club that will get you to the center of
the green, pick your target and hit it there. Many of the pin placements
on this green will get you in trouble if you try and get it close.
Besides, if you play like I do, sometimes when I aim for the center of
the green I don't even get close to where I am aiming and my off line shot
ends up closer than it should. Again, since we hit to the center
of the green, we have a fairly long birdie putt. Take a few practice
strokes concentrating on how far you are going to putt the ball, get up
there, aim it and hit it in that three foot circle. Tap it on in
there.  Another nice par, and we are off to number 6 at 1 over par, not bad!
