Realize
before teeing off that the sixteenth hole demands three shots before putting
the putter in your hand. With this in mind, a contained swing with
the driver in order to find the fairway is your smartest play.
Now that you are in the fairway, note that the landing area for
your second shot should be the right side of the fairway. This allows
for the longest margin of error since everything slopes back down from
the right. Also, take into consideration what club you would like
to hit onto the green. If you feel most comfortable with an eight
iron from one hundred thirty yards away, try to leave yourself that distance
and club for your third shot. This will leave you with a good angle
of approach at a distance that you feel good about.
Like the fairway, this green runs towards the water, so save
strokes by aiming at the front middle section of this green and allow for
the trickle. Putting for Birdie! Now analyze the putt, be aggressive
if the opportunity is there, otherwise make sure you leave the green with
a two putt par.
