Okay, you made a birdie on nine, now let's go for two in a row.  Standing on the 10 tee box, it appears to be a very wide driving hole.  However, hitting the fairway enables maximum distance of roll and takes any unfavorable lies and stances that the rough offers out of the equation.  If you are in the rough, understand that par is still attainable, but an eagle is probably out of reach.

So, you are in the fairway and have decided to lay up.  The goal of this shot is to leave yourself a full shot into the green, with the club you feel most comfortable. Once you have done this, you are prepared for the approach shot and have a good look at a birdie putt.  Know going into the approach that missing long is a great bogey; try to avoid the back of this green.
Hopefully, all went well, you got your two putt par, and you are feeling good about your chances on the back nine.
